Yes, I am spoiled. My new in-home studio is finished and it turned out to look even better than I had envisioned. I wanted the room to be functional, of course, but also pretty and personal. I chose a neutral, calming color for the floor and walls. I wanted to walk into a room that was like a blank canvas, so to speak, that was fresh and bright and that would inspire me onward to the next new project. I plan to add some color with decorative items. The colorful abstract painting by my oldest son fits in just perfectly. My huge bulletin board was cut down to fit into an attractive gold frame that I had. This is an attempt to keep the clutter down and save only what is important for now. The bulletin board over the computer is for family use. I also have a dry erase board over my work bench. My old brown peg board was replaced with a new white peg board, framed and hung horizontally. I keep my wire and chains on the peg board, in view, so that I know what I have to work with. What started out to be a built-in storage area behind new louvered doors, was changed along the way, and now has a working counter area too for packaging. I now have dedicated work areas and plenty of storage, I think, (can you ever have enough storage?). The new work bench is from Harbor Freight. The sturdy butcher block table in the center of the room was a thrift find, we just added casters, as were the chairs...and a new wall mounted TV. More pics with notes @ http://flickr.com/photos/innerearthjewelry ...now it is time to see how the layout works... I am ready to get grab some wires and pliers....
And now...last, but not least, thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to my husband for all his hard work and great ideas...xoxoxo
Oh wow! This is a great studio! Enjoy. :)
