Studio News

Slowly but surely making progress.  The floor was laid this weekend despite the rain and cold, my husband kept working till dark.  The floor looks great!  Stay tuned!

Moving along with every spare moment, the contractor, ala husband, is making progress.  The studio is ready to have the  walls painted.  The floor has been decided upon.  I need to next pick out a celing light.  Paint: plateu by Behr,  floor: travertine, called Castle from Home Depot.  More photos at http://flickr.com/photos/innerearthjewelry

Studio Redux

Week two of 2011 and so much to do.  As I had mentioned, we are redecorating the studio.  Not any jewelry making going on at the moment.  The big pastic container with the things I had wanted to be able to get to somehow got pushed to a corner and buried, will need to do some shifting.  Anyway, here are a few pictures of the studio.  I'm so fortune to have this room in our house.  It is rectangular in shape and has a door right off the familyroom, one window and a door to a side patio. The furniture out, except for desk, carpet will be riped up this weekend along with some patching of the walls. I need to decide on flooring and paint.  I do want to keep it light, bright and airy.  Taupe walls, white walls, taupe, white...decisions...light tan travertine floor, got that down to two choices,  will have white ceiling and trim, this I know.  Any thoughts, ideas, or do's or don'ts, tips?...please don't hesitate to comment.

 As for resolutions, I read these in an ad in a magazine and they do sound pretty good, 1. save more money every month (that would be nice)  2. get more free stuff  (this I think can be done by using coupons, buy one get one free, free drink with order etc. I think this was a cable tv ad).   3. hit the gym (healthy habit).  I would like to add getting organized to that, now I've really extended myself.   

 Getting organized will included organizing the studio.  Since we had water damage with the rains coming in, a new floor will probably be in order first.  Will be keeping you posted on this  "little"  venture as the new year begins and of course, more jewelry making, craft shows, stones, rocks and more....have a fun and safe evening!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  I know that it was sure busy around our place.  I got the best gift I could ask for, my son got to come home from his base at Fort Drum, NY, so the whole family was together for Christmas.  Now relaxing and winding down the year and ready for a great new year!
